Rev. Joseph Ole Kisanga

Lead Pastor


Rev. Joseph Ole Kisanga is a visionary, gifted, and passionate preacher with deep roots in Kajiado, Kenya. Raised as a herder in the Maasai land, he developed a strong connection to his community and a heart for service.

Ordained in the Presbyterian Church of East Africa (PCEA) as a Minister of the Word and Sacrament, Rev. Kisanga has over 40 years of ministry experience and currently serves as the Lead Pastor of Umoja Presbyterian Church (Umoja PC), a role he has held since 2022.

Other Ministry Involvement

  • Active volunteer leader with Campus Crusade for Christ and World Vision, focusing on discipleship and evangelism.
  • Project Chairperson for Compassion International (1993-2001).
  • Volunteer Project Coordinator for the Nomadic Christian Organization (2008-2013), mobilizing resources for sustainable change in local communities.

Personal Life & Vision

Rev. Kisanga is married to Charity Nashipae Kisanga, a pastor at Kenyan Community Interdenominational Church (KCIC) in Burien, WA, and a pioneer of the first Kenyan church in Washington State. They are blessed with four children (three boys and one girl) and three grandchildren.

His teaching is deeply rooted in Scripture, inspiring believers to grow in faith and service. He is committed to building a strong, faith-driven community and invites everyone to experience the love of Christ at Umoja PC.

Education and Ministry Experience

Rev. Kisanga holds a Master’s degree in Leadership (Globalization) from Faith International University, USA. Before moving to the U.S. in 2014, he served in several PCEA parishes across Kenya, including:

• Olooseos Parish (Kajiado County)

• Sultan-Hamud (Kajiado County)

• Miharati Parish (Nyandarua County)

• Kandara Parish (Muranga County)

• Kiserian Parish (Kajiado County)
