PCMF ministry

The Presbyterian Church Men’s Fellowship (PCMF) is a vibrant and dynamic group within the Presbyterian Church of East Africa (PCEA) that was established in 1973 with a clarion call to attract, lead, and develop men to Christ. Its motto, “Never lacking in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serving the Lord with a heart full of devotion” (Romans 12:11), serves as a guiding principle for the group’s activities.

The PCMF’s vision is to foster spiritual maturity and service among men and boys, ultimately bringing glory to God. Its mission is to be a united force of men in faith, witness, and service to Jesus Christ. The group’s objectives are multifaceted, including endeavoring to be a united Christian force for men and young men in matters of faith, witness, and service to Jesus Christ, as well as serving God and glorifying Him at all levels of church life by participating in church activities, both individually and within the community and nation.

Membership in the PCMF is open to all male members of the church who are born again, with young men aged 18 to 35 forming the Young Presbyterian Church Men’s Fellowship (YPCMF). To join the PCMF, one must undergo three mandatory steps: Admission, Dedication, and Commissioning. This process ensures that members are fully committed to the group’s principles and goals.

Through its unwavering dedication to spiritual growth, service, and fellowship, the PCMF aims to transform men through Jesus Christ, creating a powerful and united force that positively impacts not only the church but also the broader community and nation.

Theological Education by Extension (TEE)

Theological Education by Extension (TEE) is grounded in the principle of “self-paced learning,” enabling students to engage with their studies in a flexible and personalized manner, all within the comforts of their chosen learning environment.

This approach is purposefully designed to empower both church leaders and the broader congregation with the essential knowledge and skills required for a profound understanding of the Bible, proficient leadership within their congregations, and effective ministry work.

In essence, TEE contributes to the development of a resilient and unwavering church community whose members are not easily swayed by fluctuating teachings or misled by the cunning and deceitful schemes of individuals, as cautioned in Ephesians 4:14.

Christian Education

Christian Education is a transformational agent that covers the home, church, school/institutions, and society in general with the role to advise, facilitate, sensitize, intervene, educate, and represent. Its chief missionary task for the Church is teaching, discipleship, and equipping the learner to become like Christ.

Christian Education is defined as a Bible-based, Holy Spirit-empowered (Christ-centered) teaching/learning process. It seeks to guide individuals at all levels of growth through contemporary teaching means toward knowing and experiencing God’s purpose and plan through Christ in every aspect of living. It equips people for effective ministry, with the overall focus on Christ the Master Educator’s example, and his command to make disciples. It helps people to manage transitions properly covering the span from ‘womb to tomb’.

CE is the quality assurance (in terms of the application of Biblical principles) arm of the Church including her institutions and departments. As such, CE works with all the groups and committees.
