Leadership & Ministries
At Umoja Presbyterian Church (UPC), our leadership and ministries are dedicated to serving the spiritual and practical needs of our congregation. We believe in a holistic approach to ministry, encouraging each member to grow in faith, service, and community involvement.
Our church is led by a team of dedicated leaders and supported by various ministries and committees, all working together to fulfill God’s purpose for our church and the broader community.

Men’s Ministry
Empowers men to grow in faith, fellowship, and leadership, supporting one another on their spiritual journey.

Health Board
Promotes the well-being of the congregation through health fairs, wellness seminars, and mental health awareness campaigns. A key highlight has been a partnership with local healthcare providers offering free health screenings. The board also integrates health topics into Bible studies and community events.
Choir & Praise & Worship Team
Plays a vital role in worship, leading the congregation in praise and enhancing the spiritual atmosphere through music and song. Both the choir and praise team actively participate in worship services and special church events.

Women’s Ministry
A vibrant ministry fostering fellowship, personal growth, and outreach. The group has expanded with new Bible study groups and a women’s retreat focused on spiritual renewal and empowerment.
Boys’ & Girls’ Brigade
A dynamic program that trains young people in leadership, discipline, and character development while fostering spiritual growth.

Christian Education Committee
Provides a range of Bible studies, workshops, and theological training, equipping members for spiritual growth and leadership. The Theological Education by Extension (TEE) program has been instrumental in training lay leaders in advanced biblical studies.

Youth & Children’s Ministries
Provides young people with opportunities to deepen their faith through Bible study, worship, and fellowship. Youth-led worship services and community service initiatives, such as feeding the homeless and clothing drives, nurture a spirit of service. Efforts are underway to introduce interactive Bible studies and social events to maintain engagement.

Development Committee
Oversees the church’s growth, fellowship opportunities, and strategic development, ensuring alignment with UPC’s mission.
Building & Grounds Committee
Ensures that the church’s facilities are maintained, safe, and welcoming for all members and visitors.
Mission & Evangelism Committee
Dedicated to spreading the gospel locally and globally, supporting outreach programs and mission initiatives.

Pastoral Areas

Church Groups
Sunday School
An essential part of the church’s education ministry, providing children with a strong biblical foundation. The program has seen growth, but there is an ongoing need for volunteers and teachers to sustain expansion.
Development Ministry
Focuses on church infrastructure, property acquisitions, and outreach. The annual fundraising initiative successfully supports education and healthcare projects in Kenya and the Kenyan diaspora.
Young at Heart Group
A ministry dedicated to middle-aged professionals, providing a space for fellowship and spiritual growth.
Hospitality Ministry
Ensures a welcoming atmosphere at UPC through fellowship events, church picnics, and post-service refreshments. This ministry plays a key role in integrating new members into the church community.
