About Us

We Live to Praise & Worship Him

Founded in 2013, Umoja Presbyterian Church (Umoja PC) derives its name from the Swahili word “Umoja,” meaning Unity. Located in Tacoma, Washington, our church is a vibrant and welcoming congregation within the Olympia Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church (USA).

At Umoja PC, we are committed to creating a spiritually enriching and inclusive community where individuals can grow in their faith, connect with others, and serve with purpose. Over the years, we have expanded our ministries and outreach programs, making a meaningful impact both locally and globally.

We strive to serve, uplift, and unite the diverse communities of Tacoma, Pierce County, and beyond by:

• Fostering spiritual growth and discipleship for individuals and families.

• Promoting justice, peaceful co-existence, and creation care as part of our faith in action.

• Supporting global missions, particularly in Kenya, while expanding local initiatives in pastoral care and outreach.

• Overcoming challenges such as volunteer recruitment, financial constraints, and program sustainability with faith and perseverance.

At Umoja PC, everyone is welcome—regardless of background or journey. We are a church that believes in the power of unity, faith, and service to transform lives and communities.
